The Voyage for Cleaner Energy

The 2041 ‘Voyage for Cleaner Energy’ began in April 2008 on the west coast of the USA. We are honored to have RWE Netherlands as the primary sponsor for Phase III Europe, and proud to have had BP’s Alternative Energy as our primary sponsor for the Phase I.

RWE & 2041 - A passion for climate protection

During the 2008 and 2009 IAE Expeditions, RWE was instrumental in sponsoring the E-Base project, and RWE Innogy, RWE’s renewable energy company, equipped the E-Base with wind turbines. RWE recognizes its own responsibility to preserve our habitat and wants to underline this through its commitment to 2041.

BP & 2041 - A long standing involvement

BP’s involvement with 2041 first began in 2002, when Robert embarked on the World Leaders ‘Local Mission’ challenge in South Africa. It was here that Robert took the sailboat ‘2041′ on the longest overland mission to the second World Summit for Sustainable Development.
